Two years ago, Nokia executive Anssi Vanjoki stated that mobile phone devices would be creating DSLRs outdated prior to later. That's type of crazy, of course, but it seems like they're still actually working on creating it occur. Their new 808 cell phone has a 1/1.2" indicator with a complete of 41-megapixels on-board. Yes, 41-megapixels.
It appears to be a bit elegant. Actually, some people were disappointed with Nikon for placing 36-megapixels on a full-frame indicator in their new D800. But, The Nokia's technological innovation is a bit different than the brute-force megapixel strike of occasions. The 808 can take photos up to 38-megapixels in quality, checking in at 7728 x 5354, but it doesn't seem like they intend for you to do that all too often. Their objective was to merge those pixels to create better 5 or 8 megapixel pictures.
Part of the driving force behind the growth was the factor that fitting optical zooming lenses into a cell phone is difficult, if not difficult. So, the cell phone uses its megapixel power to let you "zoom" up to 3x without a loss of picture quality, or so they declare. That "zoom" power gets injected up to 4x in movie function, since complete HD movie only needs 1920 x 1080 quality. When you zoom capability, you're just choosing which area of the indicator to use the capture the photo.
This is different than common zoom capability because Nokia has restricted the zoom capability variety to avoid upscaling. It won't zoom capability previous the factor where the ultimate quality surpasses that of the feedback quality.
The indicator isn't the only item of elegant electronic photography kit that they put in the 808. The contacts is a Carl Zeiss with a highest possible Aperture of F/2.4 and has a full-frame comparative of 26 or 28mm, with regards to the element rate you choose. Plus, the display functions like a real electronic camera display, rather than a janky torch like some other mobile phone devices.
In the end, it's an exciting try things out. The indicator is still very small considering the quality. It's more in-line with what you'd discover in a common lightweight, which still creates is far small than anything you'll discover in a DSLR or even a Small Four-Thirds electronic camera.
