Google and its hardware partner ASUS are allegedly planning to release a new $99 Nexus tablet this year that could open up the product market to a large new group of customers. The review comes from Digitimes on Friday, and it points out unnamed industry resources in declaring two new Nexus tablet are currently in the works. The first will obviously be a slimmer edition of the current $199 Nexus 7 and the second will be a new $99 design. Both tablet will utilize show sections from HannStar Display. $99 is often thought of as the miracle price that makes purchase choices far less difficult for customers, and if Google can hit that cost with a reasonable piece of hardware, it could very well install a strong protection against Apple’s (AAPL) rumored upcoming iPad mini, which will be revealed next month at a cost of either $249 or $299 according to previously reviews.
