Arrange Your Files into Group

Windows provides a variety of options for planning files and information in the ways that perform best for you.

Windows 7

The easiest and most effective way to arrange your stuff in Windows seven is to use computer file agreements in your collections.

You can organize files in the Documents collection by author, for example, or you can organize the Songs collection by specialist if you're looking for an album or song by a particular band.

To organize a library

In the taskbar, simply select the Windows Traveler button .
In the navigation lite (the left pane), click on a collection (such as Music).
In the collection lite (above the computer file list), simply select the Arrange by menu, and then pick a property. For example, in the Songs collection, you can select Artist to quickly organize your music collection by specialist.

When you organize your files, Windows doesn't just put your files in a different order. Instead, they are presented in a completely different way. The agreements perform differently based on which one you select. For example, planning your images by month places your images into loads, like this:

Arranging by day places them into categories, like this:

There are four standard collections in Windows seven, each with its own specific agreements. You can also create new collections and determine which agreements are available for them.
