Clear Catch memory in Firefox


Fire Fox (like most browsers) keeps a duplicate of certain things on the sites you check out, like images for example. Doing this allows Fire Fox to fill webpages that you check out consistently (or at least once) quicker, which can improve efficiency considerably.

There are several reasons why you may want to remove the cached data files that Fire Fox stores, such as comfort issues and specialized problems.

Privacy issues will associate with the fact that the data files are saved in the area, which means the data files can be utilized and the images considered by someone other than yourself.

Technical issues can occur with cached data files. For example, if you experience issues with certain sites, sometimes cleaning the cached data files can fix it.

Firefox allows to remove any data files that are being saved in the storage cache. This page will show you how to obvious the storage cache in Fire Fox editions 2, 3 and 3.5.

Disk cache
Disk memory cache is area set aside on a difficult drive by the os or other software to shop details it believes it will need again.

After starting Mozilla Fire Fox (if you don't have it open already).

On the selection bar at the top of your screen, choose TOOLS, simply click on OPTIONS from the take down selection, see fig 1.1 below:


Firefox Edition 2
This is the Fire Fox Alternatives conversation box, simply choose the PRIVACY symbol (labeled A in fig 1.2) and then simply choose the CACHE tab (labeled B in fig 1.2).


You have the option of modifying the quantity of difficult drive area Fire Fox uses for its storage cache, the value is in MB (Megabytes). The standard value is 50MB, this is about right for most customers, change if required.

Click the CLEAR CACHE NOW option to remove any data files that are in the storage cache.

Then simply choose the OK option (fig 1.2).

Firefox Edition 3 and 3.5
Below is the Fire Fox version 3 Alternatives conversation box. In Fire Fox version 3.5 the Privacy symbol will appear different, but the rest of the alternatives conversation box is the same.

First simply choose the ADVANCED symbol (labeled A in fig 1.3) and then simply choose the NETWORK tab (labeled B in fig 1.3).


Firefox gives you the choice of modifying the quantity of you difficult drive's storage it requires up with its cached data files. The standard establishing in Fire Fox version 3 is 5MB, if you check out a lot of websites consistently then you may want to increase the quantity of area.

Click the CLEAR NOW option to remove the data files currently saved in the storage cache.

Finally, simply choose the OK option (fig 1.3).
